When Christmas was approaching in 1988, Cheryl Fuller, who had started working for DP that year, organized a group to sing Christmas carols in the stairwell of the main building, and the “Tower Singers” have been an annual tradition ever since. Rick Colvin directed the group in the early years, and Tim Brace has conducted for several years now.

Chuck King: message from Linda Fay, August 2014: Hey you guys! This is to let you know that on 8/29 (a Friday) between 9-10:30 Shane Lewis and Chuck King are playing at the Carousel Lounge near Capital Plaza with their ultra-cool band the Ruby Murrays. Shane works magic on his trumpet and Chuck the trombone and they play good covers (ranging from the 70s-current) and some original works and it's lots of fun but will assuredly be more fun if you can be there! I thought I'd put this out there in case you'd like to take hold! Hope so! Pass it on!

Asked how many tubas he has, he replies, “Well, i own 13 tubas, but 3 of them are loaned out, so i've only got 10 in the house. But i've also got a baritone horn, a trombonium, and a valve trombone, only the first 2 of which i play occasionally. I like to think that i inspire them (that is, breathe air into them), and i try not to let critters live in them. I also have 10 music arrangements published, for tuba, tuba and piano, tuba ensemble, brass quintet, and British-style brass band. I also write arrangements for dixieland band (and play tuba in 3 of them), polka band (and play in 2 of them), and concert band (and play in one).”
