Chuck McClenon and Lizanne Ledbetter - She was working in the School of Nursing, Continuing Education. They were assembling a mailing list, set up in ADABAS, in first name, middle initial, last name order. Chuck offered to help program name flipping logic. He did the flipping in READ order, which resulted in multiple flips and data mushification… so Chuck did the honorable thing and married Lizanne.

Sherry Eubanks* and Terry Helton* - Sherry came to Data Processing at age 19 as a key punch operator, and was a supervisor at age 23. Terry was hired as a computer operator in 1977, but he was hired for night shift, and they were married to other people at the time. He left UT for private industry. Meanwhile Sherry came thru the side door into programmer training, and was hired by the Law school. Terry and Sherry had kept in touch, and married in 1986, Sherry retired as a Senior Analyst at age 50 with 31 years service – and not a college credit to her name.

Julie Zeigler and Karl Martinez - Karl mentioned in his interview with Keith Knippa that his fiancee would soon be joining him in Austin and would be seeking employment. Keith suggested that she, too, apply to the training program. They took a leave of absence during training to get married. They have since moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where both still work in IT: Julie at the University of Michigan and Karl at Dominos Pizza. They have two children: Sammy and Molly.
