• UT Student Union 1979 - 1981. In those days, the drinking age was 18, and the Union could serve a lot of beer.

• Someplace on 24th Street that is no longer there – but hey, there are a lot of places on 24th Street which aren't there anymore, or altered beyond recognition, like the house shown in Slackers.
• Posse East 1994 - 2000
• Double Dave’s on Duval 1994 - Current
• Bun’s (Occasional) – was that the place run by the Wilcox family?
• Showdown (Occasional)
• Scholz Bier Garten (Occasional) – and on Thursdays, the band.
• Eastwoods Park (Six-packs in the Park and Special Events)

I'm not sure of the origins of Community Relations happy hours; as far as I know there's always been an eponymous email list and it seems to me to have originated in the mid- to late- 90s as a way to foster, um, community relations within not only the UT programmer community but the former-UT community as well. After all, late 1990s saw a lot of UT developers leave for the private sector. As long as I can recall they've been on the third Friday of the month. A significant change over the past few years is that fewer folks are actually on campus during the work week. WFH has increased, especially post-Covid, and a lot of administrative folks formerly on the forty acres have been relocated to Pickle, or UTA.

A lot of overlapping with the previously mentioned Friday Afternoon HH; these are the most common sites:

• Cactus Cafe (sometimes; since the old Union is no longer a bar)
• Showdown (Closed 2008)
  • Became Little Woodrow's (Closed 2010)
  • Became The Local (Closed 2019)
  • Became Mockingbird Saloon (Current as of 2022)
• Scholz Bier Garten (Occasional)
• Eastwoods Park (Rarely these days; times change)
• Hole in the Wall (no longer serves lunch but still going strong as of 2022)
• The Posse (Still open as of 2022)
